Notes for STELLA SHEPARD:

Shelby County Democrat Jan. 16, 1936

Funeral Service for Mrs. Turner Tuesday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Turner, a former resident of Columbiana and the wife of E.A. (Uncle Lige) Turner, were held at the Columbiana cemetery Tuesday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. T.K. Roberts with Rev. H.M. Hurst assisting in the service.

Mrs Turner died at the family home in Birmingham after an illness of three weeks. She suffered an attack of flue [sic.], from which she seemed to have recovered to be followed by a second attack that rendered her unconscious for several days before her death. She was 77 years old.

Mr. and Mrs. Turner made their home in Columbiana for about twenty years and have many warm friends here and over the county. A large number of Columbiana friends gathered at the cemetery Tuesday to attend the funeral service.

Besides her devoted husband Mrs. Turner is survived by two sons, E.A., Jr. of Calcis and J.M. Turner of Birmingham; five grand children and three great grand children.
